Deep work is the ability to focus without distraction on a particular difficult task.

Deep Work, is a book published in January 2016 is written by Cal Newport. He is provost’s distinguished associate professor in the department of computer science at Georgetown University and author of six self improvement books.

According to the popular blog study hacks of Cal Newport, Deep Work will make you better at what you do, it let you achieve more in less time and give the sense of true fulfillment that comes from the master of a skill. In short, Deep Work is like a superpower in our increasingly ambitious economy.

In Deep Work, author and professor Cal Newport flips the history on impact in a connected age. Instead of arguing distraction is bad, he celebrated the power of its opposite. He decided the book in two parts. First the Idea and second is the rules.

The Idea claim’s that there are two core skills for growing in the new economy.

 1. The ability to quickly master hard things

 2. The ability to produce at best level, in terms of both quality and speed.

Second Rules are divided into four sections, Work Deeply, Embrace Boredom, Quit Social Media and Drain the Shallows.
